Foster Family Coordinating Description


The Goathouse Refuge often enlists in the assistance of foster families to help provide care for many of our cats and kittens.

Foster Family Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting potential foster families
  • Reviewing foster applications and conducting a home visit prior to approval to foster
  • Transporting cats or kittens from the refuge to the foster family
  • Coordinating with fosters regarding delivery of food and litter (provided to fosters by the refuge free of charge) and upcoming medical needs such as vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, or other medical appointments

MONTHLY TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hrs/month (approx. 2 hrs/week)

**Busiest season for foster coordinating is Feb.-Sept., due to the
high number of kittens born during this time.**
