Minoxidil® Toxicity in Cats

Many things we eat, use, or have around the house may be perfectly healthy for us, but can be deadly to cats. Cat owners may already be aware of a number of the most common of these potentially deadly poisons, including the pesticide permethrin and plants like lilies. Another one to add to that list is the medication Minoxidil, which is commonly prescribed for hair loss and high blood pressure in humans. It’s always a good idea to make sure your medications are stored securely and out of reach of pets (and children), but please pay special attention to Minoxidil.
