Grant for Senior Cats Received from the Doris Day Animal Foundation

DDAFThe Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) has given the Goathouse Cat Refuge a grant for much needed support for our senior cat population. The Goathouse has over 38 senior resident and foster cats. We take in an average of 12 seniors a year, with 2012 seeing an increase to 18 senior additions. Our adoption rate for seniors is approximately 8 per year. The DDAF funds have allowed us to provide two months of medicine and food for our 38 older cats including special dietary foods as well as medicines for diabetes, allergies, asthma and renal failure. We were also able to make sure that Walter got his oral surgery and Oscar got his eye surgery! A giant thanks to Doris Day and her Animal Foundation, their work is making a big difference for all creatures – young and old!
