Let Lulu feel the Love – please become a Goathouse Sustainer!

Lulu 3Lulu had a very rough start in life. A caring person saw a group of kids throwing her and her sibling around and by the time he got the kittens away from them, her sibling had already died. Lulu was covered in bruises and the pads of her feet were sore. The top part of her tail was broken and ended up falling off.

From the moment she arrived in our care and was placed with one of our best fosters, she hasn’t stopped purring. Lulu was given pain medication and gently cleaned up, she’s eating high quality food – as much as she wants, and she wants a lot! – and last but not least, she is soaking up the love from her human foster mom and dad.

Our resources are stretched thin but our mission is to save cats and Lulu’s dire situation required us to take her in.

However, it’s cases like these that highlight our need for a steady, predictable income, and that mean we need more monthly Sustainers!

Sustainers are people who care about cats and kittens like Lulu who have no other options; they are people who support the no-kill mission of the Goathouse Refuge; and they sign up to give a donation to the Refuge on a recurring, monthly basis. Lulu hopes we can get 100 new Sustainers to support kittens like her!

Please consider becoming a Goathouse Sustainer.

The past year and a half have not been easy for the Goathouse Refuge.

Between our fight against the development of the shooting range next door (which we won, with your tremendous support!) and Siglinda’s illness and hospitalization last winter (she’s doing much better, but even if her old passion is back, her energy is not), we fell behind on our usual fundraising activities and Siglinda wasn’t able to produce and sell as much of her pottery either (95% of the sales of her art goes to the refuge, she only keep the tiniest bit so she can buy food for herself). Of course, the severity of this year’s kitten-season didn’t help us to catch up much on bills either.

What better way to let us continue to help helpless kittens like Lulu than to become a Goathouse Sustainer?

Any amount helps!

$5 per month allows us to give vaccines to our kittens
$15 per month allows us to purchase high quality food
$25 per month allows us to pay for necessary blood work needed for accurate diagnosis of sick cats
$50 per month allows us to purchase flea/tick prevention for 5 cats & kittens
$100 per month lets us take in more forgotten and abandoned kittens
$250 per month will let us feed 10 cats a high quality diet for a whole year!

Lulu 2Why are Sustainers so important?
• They give us a known income for the cats, allowing us to plan wisely for the future.
• They give us the ability to continue to work toward our goal of ensuring a stable future for the cats.
• They help us plan future fundraising and grant submission efforts with greater accuracy.
